Enjoying a Great Poker Life

What is the poker lifestyle? There are some people who have dedicated their lives to the game of poker and are reaping the benefits of it. The money, the fame, the cars.... the women. How do they do this?

I can tell you the first step in any poker player's life, no matter how far they go with it is getting a feel for the game. A great place to do this is by playing some online poker. You don't need to coax your friends of dubious commitment and talent out of their man caves once a week to get drunk and shoot the breeze, you need some competition on a fairly regular basis and online poker is great for this.

Every online poker company has a free section. You don't need to deposit even a dime and you can get down on some poker action.
Free poker online means you will get a stipend of imaginary chips that you can wheel and deal. Don't worry, if you go broke one quick click will refill your bankroll, however if you really want to learn how to play well, committing yourself to the idea that this money is "real" will help you significantly. This will cause you to play smarter and critically think through your next move rather than just saying "oh the heck with it" and going all in on a whim.

Once you have your massive bankroll of play chips I would then recommend using them to get used to some tournament style poker.
Poker tournaments are the main mode in which the poker lifestyle revolves. For a small buy in you can increase your money exponentially by clawing your way to the top of the tourney. Try playing small tournaments until you feel comfortable. Remember the bigger the tournament the more luck there is involved, for instance look at the world series of poker, the best players don't always make it to the top.

If you find yourself on a winning streak, it might be time to invest some money. Remember never put in more than you can afford to lose, and take care of your bankroll. Always avoid putting up more than a tenth of your bankroll at any one time. This will mean you will have to build up with slow and consistent play, but will keep you from losing everything on one bad break.

If you follow these steps you can start earning enough money to do nothing else but
play poker. Voila, the poker lifestyle.

Texas Holdem Poker

Texas Holdem poker is a widely accepted poker game amongst poker enthusiasts in casinos and poker card rooms across Europe and North America. This is more of a community card game in which dealer deals some of the cards in a face up position right at the table’s centre and all players have to share those cards. In Texas Holdem Poker, every player can use whatever kind of five-community cards combination. More over every player can own, unlike other poker games, two hole cards for making one poker hand. The person who gets the card deal last is the dealer when game starts. When one hand ends, the dealer status moves to the player in hand in clockwise fashion.
